@Suyog Ghadge
I was in your situation 3 years ago and no, you can't start a job with a residence permit from a different country. In fact, once your single permit has both work and residence permit approved, you still have to wait for visa D despite living in another Schengen country already.
@Beenthere3
Thank you for your reply.
May I ask if you or your company HR had any communication regarding this with the immigration department. I am asking this because I know someone who is maybe already working.

@Suyog Ghadge
Yeah I had a specialized relocation company (through my company) helping with the documents.
I am sure that it's not possible if you have a contract for longer than 3 months. If it's less, I don't know. If it's a region other than Flanders, I don't know either.
Can't you ask the person who already started working? This being Belgium, there might be loopholes 😉

RP (Annex 46): 11/07/2025
I don't think my application was complicated. It's just taking a long time at the IBZ at the moment.
Do you think theres a difference in time for renewals compared to the first time application? @Beenthere3

@Luke Blackk
No, I don't think so as can be checked here:
But this is also vacation time, so the waiting periods maybe longer.
@Luke Blackk
This is an excellent website of IBZ to compare the waiting times for several application times. Each month, IBZ publishes their report. Usually, but not in all cases, renewal demands are processed slightly faster than first-time applications. Each case is different and it depends on the time of the year surely.
Go to IBZ office des étrangers website, on the menu choose chiffres. Under chiffres, go for accès et séjour. Then permis unique and rapports. Voilà !
Hi,
From the report and using some chatgpt

Thank you
Hello,
(Flanders Region)
I see many people receiving a positive decision to work in the region within a few days, as their application is admissible. My application was deemed admissible on 3/07/25, but I haven't received an update since.
Is it normal?
Thanks
Is it true that individuals can also check the status of their single permit application on this website - single-permit(dot)socialsecurity(dot)be/#/home. Someone said that it's only the employer that can check the status. Has anyone used the link to check their SP/WP application status?
You can check only if you are already in Belgium (and you have a valid residence / itsme app). For all other cases (applications from abroad)Â you have to ask your employer to check on the online counter 'Working in Belgium' for your status! @tosinosu
@Luke Blackk
Thanks Luke. Yeah, the person involved is in Belgium with search year permit and I guess he has the itsme app. I'll inform him to check the website.

Hi
If anyone has a case like mine, please respond. Thank you.
@bz9
Hi,
Have you received your RP? I got my work permit on the same date as you, and I am still waiting for the RP.
It is boring to wait this long.
I have been waiting for my residence permit for almost 4 months. Does anyone know if it will be automatically granted after the deadline? And how to obtain the Annex 47, thanksÂ

@n_novin
I don't know anything. I just asked the operator on the 37th day after ordering. He told me that he hadn't received anything.
@n_novin
Hi,
No, I have not received it yet.
Yes, indeed, it is really boring and frustrating.
@bz9
We are in 16th week since received the work permit. Still waiting for residence permit.

Hello guys,
Has anyone had a long-term EU resident permit and moved to Belgium for work? Did they apply for the single permit, and what was the process time?
thanks
@Ragequit
considerably quick, congratulations!
Isn't this a bit too long for a renewal? Can we still apply the same rule - if you dont get it within 4 months from WP you automatically get single permit? @aykutg88

@aykutg88
I assume your 3 years are probably up and you’ve renewed it. Are you planning to apply for the unlimited single permit afterward? As far as I know, the required period for Turkish citizens is 3 years. (if yes, on which website could we raise that application?)
+After submitting Annex 46, do you know which link we should use to raise our residence card application in Antwerp? (I'm not sure if you're applying from Antwerp, but I thought I'd give it a shot and ask.)
Does anyone know if extra documents requests for work and residence permit in flanders comes to the employer and/or employee? Also is it through email or e-box only?
@Suyog Ghadge
The employer, unless you yourself applied for unlimited single permit.
In either case, you can check through single-permit.socialsecurity.be if you are already living in Belgium and have a national registration number.
Hi,
To those that have applied for the single permit of unlimited duration, how did you upload ALL the documents (especially the payslips) in ONE go?
I've put the documents (work permits, eIDs, payslips, etc) that have multiple files in each individual folder, for e.g., one folder labeled "Payslips", where I put ALL 30 payslips, etc., however, when I drag and drop this folder on the application site, it opens up to a new page just showing all the docs in the folder without actually uploading it onto the site.
I can't upload them individually, since there's no "add" button to add additional files.
So, to those that have successfully navigated this, particularly those applying through the Brussels-Capital region, how did you manage to upload ALL your documents in one go?
Thanks!
@expat0ctja
You can google “merge multiple adobe pdfs into one†and use the free adobe tool to merge all the payslip files into 1
