It is noted that waiting times in June 2025 are 10-11 weeks (for both first time applications and renewal). Do they really follow this?

Do people really understand anything? Why do you keep on wasting your time writing pointless sums? Every case is different!

Luke Blackk

And yet you came here on a page designated for writing this type of information smh... @SimCityAT

Elena Igor

@SimCityAT

You have been answered this question many times over the years, why do YOU insist. Leave the people alone, clearly it helps them in ways you are incapable of understanding

itsbaber

@Luke Blackk

I think they are. The company that applied on my behalf told me that they are actually expecting it to take this long.

Luke Blackk

Thanks! I even spoke with Belgian Embassy in my country and they told me lately it's really slow with Single Permits... @itsbaber

Luke Blackk

So i just heard back from IBZ and they told me that the current waiting time on average is 8-14 weeks after work permit is issued.

sam@925

@Luke Blackk

Thanks for the info.

RP: Waiting

The portal indicates that the application is "Newly submitted." Does anyone have an idea how long it takes to get the first approval in Flanders these days?

meexpat

@teaenjoyer27

In my experience, 5-6 weeks. However, now everyone will go into vacation mode, so might take a bit longer.

teaenjoyer27

@meexapt, are you sure? I just checked the website for Flanders. It says 2 weeks for work permit authorization. But its quite sad if it is already 3x the time they put on the website.

Luke Blackk

Yeah usually it's 2 weeks for work permit if everything is alright (all the documents are ok). RP takes extra long tho especially lately. @teaenjoyer27

tosinosu

Hi all, when your application for the single permit was submitted by your employers, did you all receive notifications in your email?

itsbaber

@tosinosu

Yes, normally you get an email regarding their policy about data processing. It's pretty generic.

Eline Paul

@tosinosu yes u receive it instantly

teaenjoyer27

I'm waiting for the WP* and today application status turned to "admissible". There was a letter that said a decision regarding work will be made in 120 days. I feel that is indeed a big deadline? Does anyone know approximately when the WP is approved after application is deemed admissable?

Residence Permit: Waiting

uygurdamla5

@teaenjoyer27

What is your category and the region?

Normally, for residence permit it can be that long but work permits are quite faster.

krish2190

My new employer filed the permit in Brussels region on June 11 and it changed to “in treatment by region “ on 17th June and no further updates. Still waiting and my joining day is next week.

teaenjoyer27

@uygurdamla5

Highly-Skilled and Flanders. Submitted application on 27/06

uygurdamla5

@teaenjoyer27

They announced 2 weeks of waiting time of work permit for High skilled workers in their website.

However, I guess the whole process may take 120 days with the residence permit. You can call them maybe.

bz9

Hello, has anyone’s residence-permit application been taking more than 14 weeks since receiving the work permit?

Naysh

Is it common that a company put a deadline for single permit issuance in the contract and terminate it in case of not issuance by that date?

GuestPoster14366

@bz9

Yep I have been waiting for over 13 weeks for the residence part of my single permit renewal

bz9

@Beenthere3

Could you please tell me when did you receive the work permit letter? thanks

bz9

@Naysh

yes, I think so, my contract states that it will no longer be valid after 2 months of the starting date

GuestPoster14366

@bz9

I received my work permit on 27/03/2025

Naysh

@bz9 so did you meet the deadline?

what will happen if it misses?

bz9

@Naysh

No, not yet.

I’m not sure, but the contract will no longer be valid, you may need to sign another one.

Suyog Ghadge

Hello everyone,

This is my first single permit application.

Application date: 29 Apr 2025

Work permit: 06 May 2025

Residence permit: Waiting

In the official flanders work permit web page () the waiting time for residence permit in June 2025 was 8 -11 weeks and that has change to +/- 13 weeks in July 2025. Are these estimates for someone who has applied previously or for someone who's application will be made in the resepective month.

Can someone clarify this to me

ievgenfeldmann

@Suyog Ghadge

Nobody can clarify wait 3 month that’s it

Luke Blackk

You can contact the commune with your passport and work permit if you wanna get more info but you wont get any firm answer. They told me (last week) that currently its between 8 and 14 weeks (and I’m already in my 11th week) for the residence permit part. There is really no rule but that maximum of 4 months and it’s so annoying. So I wouldn’t stick to those timelines they put on the website. It’s a waiting game and it’s really very vague… Good luck tho! @Suyog Ghadge

Suyog Ghadge

@Luke Blackk @ievgenfeldmann

Thank you for your prompt response.

Do you have any idea if I can work partially in Belgium with having the work permit and residence permit of other country (example: Germany or Natherlands)

Luke Blackk

I am not 100% sure but I think that your work permit is not valid without Belgian residence permit since its a single permit application. Again, I am not sure about this. @Suyog Ghadge

Eline Paul

@krish2190 you can’t join them next week. It takes 4 months on an average to get the single permit
