Hi, I have sent an email to gh.visa@ibz.fgov.be for updating the documents, which are recently obtained. But there was no response from them on it. Is it normal? Last time, i sent some other documents, there was a response mentioning receipt of the documents.
If anyone has an idea, please let me know.
There was no email response saying the files has been received well even?

@bulubusra
What documents did they ask for?
-Proof of registration from university
- Housing
- Health insurance
- Proof of sufficient means of subsistence
((((((We have already submitted all these documents)))
@Mert AKEL
@bulubusra
Did you submit Myrent document for Housing?
Yes, I did. By the way IBZ sent the request for additional documents to my spouse's email address. I recommend checking both your own and your spouse' emails. @musmans
Hey guys, I`m new here in Antwerp (SWE). Hope you are doing well!
Our family reunification visas also in treatment on IBZ. Do you know if short term rental contract is also applicable (2 months + extendable) as an IBZ accomodation proof, since I`m still waiting to get registered first, and to get Annex 49 / A card probably ? (Then I would look for a cheaper long term option).
(And btw, that short term rental contract is not registered on MinFin, just electronically signed by both parties - me and landowner)
@mkomilov6611
When did you applied for family reunification? If it's recent then you still have more than 3-4 months.but they dont consider the normal contact. It must be registered on myrent be. Try to look for long term option now because it's not easy to get an apartment.
It is on the IBZ website since July 22. Regarding the accomodation, I`m still here in this short term apartment until the end of September (another 1.5 months). Do you suggest I should start looking for housing now? (or can start it September beginning? because most Immoweb ads are either Immediately/near dates)
Also, what other suggestions do you have, maybe contact real estate agents or finding myself via Immoweb/similar?
Hi everyone!
I am asking this for my acquaintance. She applied for a family reunification visa in Vietnam to join her Belgian husband in march. The application was refused recently on 4th Aug because:
- The husband’s income was considered not sufficient.
- They did not provide a registered rental contract.
Now they're making a rental contract. The problem is that the husband is on long-term sick leave and only receives about €1700/month from health insurance, and he is not allowed to work.
My questions are:
- Is there any way to prove financial means besides the husband’s work income/benefits like joint financial sponsorship from his family member in Belgium or uing her own income/savings to support herself?
- Is it better to appeal the refusal, or prepare a new application with the rental contract and the same income proof?
Has anyone been in a similar situation?
Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
@mkomilov6611
Since your application was submitted in July, the process will likely take some time, possibly until November or December(assuming you both are non EU). This means you can start looking for an apartment a bit later. You can also keep an eye on listings that are available a few months in advance;
As you mentioned that you’re looking for more affordable options, it might be challenging, so researching different areas will be important. City center is expensive.If you have a long list of specific requirements, finding the right place could take more time.
You still have almost four months before you need to move, so there’s no immediate rush. Regarding the rental contract, you can submit later also or may be when they ask to submit. I submitted 2 weeks back and my application was filed in April.
Hi, I am in the same situation, but I am now working in Belgium on an orange card. They refused me several times because my husband is not working. The income must be 2100 euros net for a family reunion and sick leave funds, which the immigration office does not accept. You will never get a visa, even if you have a contract. Trust me, they will not give you a visa. Your husband has to have a full-time work contract.
@bulubusra
Hi
Did you receive response on additional documents submission?
@ss942
Hi,
Has there been any update on your visa?
@Abhimanyu_143
When did you apply? and when was to transfer to Brussels date? Did you submit contract on request from them or submitted yourself by email?
Dear all,
I have a situation and would love to receive some advice. My wife and I are both non-EU nationals living in Germany. We both have German residence permits valid until December 2025. I plan to move to Belgium for work after receiving the single permit (hopefully very soon). I know I have to apply for a D-type visa. My questions:
Is it better to apply for the visa alone or together?
Would it take a lot more time if we applied together?
If I apply and receive the Visa alone, can my wife come with me and then apply for family reunification within Belgium?
Any ideas, suggestions and comments are appreciated. Thanks
@musmans
Applied 3rd april , transferred to ibz on 11th April. No they did not asked any additional documents. I submitted those in advance to avoid delay when they take my file.
@Dmente44
Not aware about other questions but apply together on single application/appointment. You never know you may lucky and get approval early.
Hi!
Today we received a reply. Although we sent it last week they requested proof of income sufficiency again. My spouse sent both his scholarship certificate and paid leave document issued by turkish university. We dont know why they requested these documents again. But we hope to receive approval soon.. @fnu09
