Bank: Online or traditional

Poza76915

Hello,

I have several online banks but I want personal experience on banks, to be honest I want a traditional bank that I can visit but im not sure how easy it is for eu citizens to open one up, im on a pay monthly property so maybe not as easy to prove address, also a 2nd thing, I have wise, revolut and bunq, I would use bunq solely for their different Ibans and also being able to use 25 sub accounts but they charge to many €s, like for example the first 5 withdrawals is €0,99 and then after that it's €2,99 so better as a online bank, revolut I dont mind, nice to have the whole free €1,000 on the more cheaper plans, at the minute I have premium but may cancel as im not sure who to stay with until I can sort out a proper bank account in bulgaria as long with wise, I see wise is also a good bank, has a lot of good reviews and their conversions dont seem bad but since you've all lived in bulgaria for longer than I have it's better to get 2nd opinions

Also if any banks you think are best for foreigners then please do let me know, mainly looking for a debit card, no credit or loans :) as i will keep 80% majority in cash and the rest in debit card for bills that can't be paid in cash

one for the wife and one for me.

it is not a joint account

Find it handy as with Revolut and wise cash withdrawals are restricted to set amounts per month so we transfer lv from them to BG accounts and can withdraw any amount of cash we want

Roy, did you find it difficult opening the account, and do you find they charge a lot of fees?

I'm sure the difficulty of opening an account as a non-Bulgarian varies from branch to branch, but they're my first choice for trying to get an account with. There are three banks in the nearest town to our village so I'll work my way through all three if needed!
