Is my profile enough to get PR approval?

Single, female 34

ethnicity: chinese

citizenship: indonesian

Stayed in Singapore for more than 7 years and have applied PR once, but got rejected.

My work is in the skill shortage list and earn 6 figures

Recently i got laid off from my FT job, but I managed to get a 1 year renewable contract job with a multinational IT company immediately, so I can continue staying, but not sure if this will work against me or ICA will see the resilience as committment to stay.

do i try to apply now or find a full time job before trying again? My view is that even full time jobs are not stable these days. I鈥檓 in a state where I鈥檓 already wondering if it鈥檚 still worth investing time in SG given that many of my friends haven鈥檛 been successful. It seems PRC or Malaysian is preferred

@alexandrali As Indonesian Chinese, you are preferred ethnicity (like Malaysian Chinese, but unlike PRC).

ICA looks at the long term, so job prospects (which you obviously have) are more important than short term contracts.

The only problem I see: You are not married (but still at the age where it's possible to start a family).

I do not think so - but the exact criteria ICA applies are unknown and may change from case to casd.

I posted on this forum quite a while ago in 2024 (thread since deleted) with some worries about my PR approval chances. I was delayed in submitting the application and only submitted it in Jan 2025 via the spouse sponsor route. I've heard back, thankfully, with in-principle approval. My story will be different to others since I had a lot of positive factors on my application, but just posting on the off chance there are others like me who are worried (for nothing!), and this is my way of giving back for kindness shown by others on this forum in reassuring me.

Married to SC (Chinese, 32, Christian) - at time of application, we had been married for 2.5 years and had moved into a condo we had bought, quite obviously in preparation for starting a family
Household annual income is high six figures - both husband (as sponsor) and I earn mid/high six figures each, although our profession is not on the job shortage list
No kids (yet!)
Length of time in Singapore on EP prior to PR: 2.5 years - as I moved from a Western country to follow my then-fiance/now-husband so my move to Singapore coincided with our marriage registration


@beppi and @surya - you post a lot on these forums so probably don't recall your advice, but I am grateful to you both for reassuring me that our household income would be high enough (as I had wondered whether I needed to report salary increases), that my application basically ticked all the boxes, and that my age/background (I went to university a few years later than most, was also a divorcee) wouldn't hold me back. @beppi, I also wrote a cover letter setting out our plans to start a family and all the preparations we had made for this, including the condo we purchased, as you advised!

Hi, I applied for PR as a family (me + my wife + son) in July 2024. People say new system is fast, but mine is still pending for a year now. 馃檨 I have applied before in 2020 (my son was not born yet) and it was rejected after 8 months.

All are Myanmar and race is Burmese and religion is Buddhist.

I'm holding EP. My wife and my son are on DP. My son was born here and now going for N1.

Both me and my wife have been in Sg since 2010. We both went for poly. Then, I went NUS for degree and my wife went for private part time uni for degree and MBA.

I'm earning about 130K a year and my job is in IT.

I have never done blood donation and I do volunteer work sometimes with NTUC.

My brother (only sibling) is already a Singapore citizen before I applied PR in 2024. (I don't know if it helps.)

I have recently updated my salary details in PR application because I got an increment.

Please advice if I should reach out to ICA to ask about my application and to check if they require any additional documents from my side. What are the chances of getting approved for this case? because some people say no news is good news.
