Hello everyone,

I'm from the U.S., I'm looking to move to Uruguay as a digital nomad.

I don't know where to start. How does one buy a fairly priced apartment in a safe area? How does one navigate the nightlife specifically if you're homosexual? Is there a gayborhood?

How is the internet service? I need fast and robust service.

How is the medical services? Ex can I get the same meds that I can get in the U.S.? Ex. Wegovy, Ozempic, PrEP?

How is the water? Is it safe for drinking/showering/brushing teeth?

How are the services for convienience? Ex UberEats, Laundry Service, Grocery Delivery Service, Taxi Service, Cleaning Service, (Cooking service if possible)?

Any other considerations that I may need to take into account.

Hi Frosty, To find a realtor, google inmobilaria uruguay.

My internet speed is 200mbps

The water is safe to drink but heavily chlorinated so most people either buy bottled water or a filter.

LGBT+++ rights are very good.

Services are going to depend on where you choose to settle. It is best to come and have a look around for yourself.

Uruguay is probably the most expensive country in South America.

You really need to come and see for yourself.聽 Most of your questions are location specific. In some places for example there is food delivery but others not (like where we are)

renting an apartment is very much like in the US except they often want a 5 month deposit, rental may not include a stove or fridge or hot water heater.聽 But you find a broker and they will help you.聽 You might find a cleaning lady who will also cook for you.

internet depends on where you are?聽 Could be 6Mbps of 60 or 600. Like wise you phone may get LTE or 5G
