This is an easy one.  American candy- M&M's, Snickers, etc. is always loved.  Bottles of Blue Cheese dressing, pickle relish for making tuna salad, jars of Pepper Jelly, powdered Ranch Dressing (Hidden Valley), beef jerky and Koolade always make my list.  I have also brought in frozen boneless hams and thick sliced pepper bacon.  Freeze it & wrap it in newspaper and it stays pretty cold.  Millions of pigs in Ecuador and the hams and bacon here in Guayaquil are awful.  Hope this helps!

I was wondering why I couldn't find a Tester's Choice coffee in Ecuador...

This brings up a good question...
Are there not alot of the name brands that we're used to in Ecuador?

I think I would miss my teas... i like earl grey tea, chai tea etc

I only know one person from Ecuador and he moved to Houston as a child so his recommendations are...well... his suggestions are to take a busload of Rice-A-Roni, Shake'n'Bake, and Mac'n'Cheese.  Jajajaja.  I laughed when he told me this, but seriously--are meal mixes like that among the missed items?  (I was actually thinking of taking a couple of 2-Alarm chili kits.) 
My friend keeps asking me for Tequila and I have been contemplating it.  It seems rather weird, though, to export and imported item.

I bought a couple of bottles of tequila and am going to get him a pair or two of Levi's 501's as well.  This will make him verrrrry happy. 

Now, I have another question:
What limits are there on bringing in items? 
Are seeds a problem?  (rice???)
Volume versus number of containers? (2 tequila bottles versus amount, for example)
Certain forbidden materials from the US? 
Is anything legal here that is not allowed there?

How's the coffee?  Should I take mine?  I might die without my daily fix.

I thought coffee was grown in that part of the world (colombia)... it should be readily available... I have no idea though or experience with this.. just speculating
