Good morning.  As long as your CRNM has not been canceled and you return before its expiration date, Brazil should have no problem with your traveling to another country and returning.

In order to travel abroad, you will need a valid passport that has not expired from your citizenship country, and any required visas for the countries that you plan to visit.  If you are not a citizen of Brazil, Brazil will not issue a passport to you, even if you are a legal resident.

Hello Abthree.

Will this person be able to keep and maintain their RNM Residency after their divorce? Will they be able to renew it?  Thanks

Hey, @rraypo -- great to see you back!  My understanding is that he's ok until his card's expiration date, unless the PF launches an investigation of his status earlier.  There's no indication that the cartórios provide status updates to the PF, so they'd have no reason to do that unless someone (like his ex -- this is a good reason for divorced foreigners whose residence is based on family reunion to stay on good terms with the ex!) files a complaint.  In that case, the PF would advise him of the investigation and offer him the opportunity to relate his side.

He may have a difficult time renewing, though:  part of the renewal process requires the Brazilian partner to attest that the relationship is still ongoing.
