Cities without humidity

wgregg12354

I am thinking of the move to Mexico, but being an Oregonian I’m not too fond of having to endure humid conditions.  I’ve considered Rosarito, but are there other towns that I should be contemplating?   What about SMA or the Lake Chapala area?

Live in Lake Chapala here.  Only time humidity gets over 50% is summer monsoon season and then its hardly ever over 60%.  And Lake Chapala is the 2nd best weather in the world per the weather watchers.  And it is true.  Dry all year you get 1 or 2 months of hot dry because once the rain starts it cools off massively.   Humidity does go up but the cool air makes up for it.  And if you get a house on the mountain side you get to die for cool breezes all year round even during the hot dry seasons.  We never use a AC but we also make sure to keep the doors and windows open to let that sweet cool breeze in all day.  And at night if the breeze does go down a bit.. we put a large floor fan on our patio to bring in that cool air to our bedroom.

That is the view off our top Balcony and we have 2 other floors with the same awsome views.  30000 peso a month is all!  Gated community with there own wells for water, security.  Come on down.

How hard has it been to make friends there?

How long has it taken you to do so?

Thanks!

@Big Picture Gal

Super easy. Locals are very easy going and fun to talk too..... now a group of the expats are very rude and insulting... and always look unhappy.

At this point in our lives we chose to live where we can enjoy the weather year round. Neither my wife or I do well with high heat / humidity, so we chose to live here along the northern Baja Pacific coastline where mild weather without much humidity is the norm year round.

You mentioned Rosarito Beach. Ensenada would be another good candidate and if you are looking for something in a smaller community, look a bit further south down here in San Quintín. We live outside of town in a small fishing community called La Chorera and absolutely love the weather here all year round, as well as the topography, beaches/tide pools and bay / wetlands.

There are also several outdoor, family operated seafood restaurants here that are fabulous!
