"99 cent" store in Istanbul?

jujulou

Where I'm from, there are discount shops with a lot of junk called "99 cent" stores. it's just a name for "very low prices". At these 99Cent stores, one can buy mini-figurines for 2USD or bread for 50 cents. Sometimes these things are near-expiration -- or expired. Nonetheless, I want to buy food at a lower price than the supermarket. Is there such places in Istanbul similar to a "99cent" store? What are these called? Where are they? Much thanks <3

Hello,

there are stores called as " 1 milyoncu".  updated interperetation may be "the shops sell anything for 1 TL".
But I think those stores are rarer in Istanbul than Anatolia. And not easy to notice. And muchly doesnt sell food.

But you should visit "BİM" supermarkets or "A 101"  supermarkets to buy food. The are very easy to recognise and very common.
