Short Term Student Visa

kinmasashi1024

Hi everyone. My name is Changji Kim and I’m Korean.

I’m currently staying in Spain on a short-term student visa, which started in early June. My language course ends at the end of September, and after that, I’m planning to go back to Japan for a short time, apply for another short-term student visa, and then return to Spain in November.

However, I have one concern: the visa I currently have is valid until the end of October. Since it usually takes about a month to process a new visa, I would need to apply for it at the Spanish Embassy in Japan around early October to be able to come back in November.

So my question is:

Is it possible to apply for a new short-term student visa while my current visa is still valid? (The new visa would only start after the current one expires.)

If that’s not possible, do I need to wait until my current visa expires (at the end of October) before applying for a new one?

(In that case, I’d consider delaying my return to Spain until December.)

Or is there any other option, like extending my current visa?

I’d really appreciate any information you could provide, and thank you in advance for your time and help!

Best regards,

Changji Kim
