D7 visa process

Andrew Finnie

Hi folks,

I got my 4 month temporary visa end of Oct 23 and this ended Jan 24 with no appointment with Aima for my residency. Despite calling several times i am told i am in the system and no appts are available, is this normal, do you simply just wait for an appt at sometime in the future or is there anything i can do?

Hi Andrew,

Documents and visas relating to stay in national territory, which expired from 22 February 2020, are valid until 30 June 2025 and are accepted by Portuguese public authorities, for all legal purposes.

Does anyone know if the 4 month temporary Visa while awaiting AIMA eats up the 90 days in 180 of Schengen allowance or is it separate?  ie if the worst happens and they don't confer a D7 Visa for 2 years will I be able to Exit the EU and then re-enter a week later to start my EU 90 in 180 ?

THanks
