In a couple of weeks I will need to get from Santo Domingo to Puerto Plata with a lot of luggage. I would like to find some kind of door-to-door taxi or shuttle service. I am searching by other means too, but I thought I'd ask here as well. Any companies that anyone here would especially recommend or especially avoid? good places to look for trustworthy reviews? other tips or warnings?

All clues welcome. Thanks!

If you go on the various FB groups for different areas you will find multiple options and recommendations.聽 For example,聽 Everything Santo Domingo has options. Everything Puerto Plata or Everything Sosua will have other options as well.

Contact Santo Domingo Taxi! We've had them drive us between Las Terrenas and Santo Domingo, and Santiago to Las Terrenas. It's not cheap, but if you have a lot of luggage, it can be way more convenient than taking the bus.

I used Santo Domingo Taxi from the airport when I first got here, and I thought they were fantastic! It didn't occur to me they'd go that far -- good to know.

When we flew in with our dog, we had to fly into Santiago, our first and only time there. Our SDT driver, Felix, arrived early enough to scout out the process for us. He met us as we exited customs and was able to point me in the right direction to have our paperwork reviewed and pay our fee. Then he knew exactly where I needed to go in the cargo terminal to retrieve our precious cargo! Their service truly goes above and beyond!
