Debit card question

New and improved

My overseas bank debit cards are linked to checking accounts but also say Visa on them. Yet they're not credit cards. When I tried to use them in the bank ATM today, there were only four choices and none of them seemed correct:

savings
credit
default
current

Nothing about checking accounts. Does anyone know the protocols to follow here? I called one of the banks back home and even their service department didn't have a clue except to say he didn't "think" that "savings" was the right choice. None of my attempts went through but none of the cards are blocked.
Thanks!
Jane

Try another bank ATM

THIGV

Probably it is current.  That is what Viet banks call a demand account as opposed to a time deposit.  A demand account is one that the owner may deposit or withdraw from on demand.  That is what checking accounts are in Western banks.

Definitely current, as THIGV stated above.

Thank you! You're both right. I tried "current" and it worked like a charm. Many thanks for your help an advice. Jane
