SS tranfer to Vietnam

Hi All, I'm just wondering if I was to move to Vietnam and set up a bank account to recieve SS electronic transfers to recieve the money is this diffucult to do? If this can be done and I set the account up in Nha Trung then later decided to move to another city would I be able to draw the money out each month in a different city with out any problems?

Thank you I did see that after I posted. Still wondering if there is any problem to collect your SS in a different town. Same name bank of course.

This seems a no-brainer:

Of course you can withdraw funds deposited in (say) Agribank in HCMC from an Agribank branch in Danang, etc.

HOWEVER, the rules of Social Security require you to change your address whenever you move.

Ideally, one would think you should arrange to change your address at the bank and change it with Social Security, while keeping the same bank account in the city where you opened it.

IF the bank won't allow that, and requires you to transfer your account to a new account in your new city, THEN you would need to change your account information with Social Security.

I would "think" you should not close the first account and transfer to the new account.

Instead, keep the first account open, then open a second account in your new city, providing THAT information to Social Security to redirect your deposits.

Once you successfully receive funds at the new bank account, you can do whatever you want with the first account.

Thank you for your reply. You would think it would be a no-brainer but after living in Thailand for 27 years you learn to question and double check everything.

Setting up a direct deposit account in Thailand only took a total of three months to do. You must count on the Thai bank and the Phillipines Social Security office to comply with one another after you complete all the paper work involved. It's not something you want to do over and over again if you decide to move. In Thailand I have moved my home three times sence I opened up the direct deposit. I of course changed my address with Social Security but kept my orginal bank account and pull funds out from sister branches. I just wanted to check if things are done the same in Vietnam.
