tax refund

hi i wanna ask, i'm under 182 days due to in 2022 my 182 days is not enough, so i reset my 182 days started 1 jan 2023. in jan 2023 i went out malaysia for 5 days, and in april i went out 15 days, i didn't know the 14 days rule i thought it would be fine.. can you tell me whether i will lost all of the tax refund due to i went out more than 14 days?

Im not a tax expert , though im sharing on my personal experience


If you were out of Malaysia for more than 14 days, Technically you break the connecting period for 2022 tax resident status. But you will be tax resident for the year 2023 if you continue stay until you fulfill 182+ days.
