EXPAT BLOG JANUARY 29th SUNSET MEET UP AT TROU AUX BICHES
I really hate to be the bearer of worse news.. but... not looking good at all on my side. No visibility, can only see 50 metres ahead due to pouring heavy rain.
I am going to the closest pub in an hour - it's just in front of the police station.
I guess they won't mind selling us a few beers
Lets not take chances. Lets take a call after one hour, if we should still so ahead with this event.

Ten mins??!! Yup wen I take my private helicopter :p
Unfortunately the Air traffic control guys have declined to allow any copters to fly in this weather!! Shucks!! How do I come now???!!!
If there is a cyclone, it is all over the island - there is NO such thing as a cyclone warning for QB or TOB only.
Hi ½ûÂþÌìÌÃgers,
It's raining heavily here in pereybere. I hope to still make it, but would like to know if rains can affect such activities in Mauritius?
Tnx for responding.

Musheer, that's ten minutes for the weather in TOB to look like the one in QB!
The French speaking bloggers are very much motivated! I think rain or not, there'll be a pretty big crowd. Will the bar be big enough to accommodate the hungry crowd?
Unfortunately I won't be able to make it today.
I've asked one of the bloggers to get me some pictures!
I wish...I wish..
Shame indeed!!!
With the way the weather is right now, it will be a shame indeed for a lot more of us, esp., the ones who don't stay up north or don't have flying licenses...
Musheer
Weather is better in QB. You should defo go. I need to see the pics!!!
Am sure they will be other volunteers... :p
I have been looking forward to it, unless t weather is bad, I shall make sure I do land up there, (hopefully not in 10 mins)
Its been raining on and off since mid day and is pouring down at the moment
Tats comforting :p
Stage 1 is getting there in the violent rain in partial Daylight..
Stage 2 is returning from there at night..
Mebbe it is gonna be a dark and stormy night with it raining lions and wolves...
Hi I think someone needs to make a decision as the weather is still raining. What about the children , can they be accommodated anywhere.
I have had a few posts asking me what is going on when I do not know myself.
We could do with a phone number as a contact point:
Best Wishes
Joe
not raining anymore in G Bay
If it rains, let's meet at l'ASSIETTE DU NORD - 100 meters from the public beach
anyway, I'll be in Trou aux biches at 17h

Please keep in touch. Joe on 2632190 / 9785122
Thanks to all the participants
It was the biggest meet up we never had ... I think we were 70~80 on the beach
And it didn't rain !
Terence, Aarbee, Amata, we missed you
see you next time !
Being the first 'internet-group-based' meeting i've ever attended, I can only say it was a really GREAT meet up! Lots of friendly, like-minded people all in the same place having food and drink... nattering away... all having a great sense of humour...I only wish I had time to meet them all... Cecilia and I both thought it was a REALLY great night out. Most certainly looking forward to more of these events. Oh and yes Julian... not a drop of rain!
It was my and RogerÂ’s first expat-blog meet up and we enjoyed it tremendously and now we are looking forward to the next one, which we hope will not be further than a month away.

Guys you will be laughing, but we almost were closing the door today around 17:00 when I decided to check whether the meeting is still up or not as it was about to start raining Were completely taken aback that everything already happen
this is how time shifts when you have a 1 month old on hands...
...Had to BBQ at home ... Glad everything went well. Next time!
