Hello,

We're a family of four looking to move from Washington state in the US, to Cuenca. My wife is from Quito. We were married 20 years ago here in the US. We have two teenage sons and two dogs. I'm currently a student, working on my masters degree in information technology. For the past 12 years I've been a technical sales engineer, working remotely. My wife works for the state government. I hope to do something similar when we make it to Ecuador.

Hola gang!聽 This is my first message on the forum.聽 My wife and I are looking to relocate to Cuenca for our retirement soon.聽 The wheels are in motion.聽 I have a couple of questions for the US expats that would really help us out.聽 If my questions were already answered in a different thread, please let me know.

Banking. We are on currently receiving social security benefits.聽 How are others receiving benefits receiving said benefits?聽 Do you need to maintain and account in the US and wire them to an account in Ecuador?聽 I'm trying to figure out the mechanics of it all. Does anyone use Wise?

Thanks for the help.聽 I'm sure I'll have additional questions later.
