Is there work for a non french speakers?

Hi all,

I am currently living near Brisbane and originally from UK, considering coming over to work a while. My question - although keen to learn French when I may arrive wondered how realistic to gain work without the command of language. I have construction, engineering and safety background in Project Management but am happy to work in other fields.

Any comments however short would be appreciated.
