Healthcare in French Polynesia

Julien

Hi,

how does the healthcare system work in French Polynesia ? Is it efficient ?

What are the main differences between public and private sectors?

Is it recommended to purchase private health insurance in French Polynesia?

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience !

Isn't 20% a little high. I am moving to Raiatea next year and am taking my blue cross with me. I have already confirmed that blue cross will now pay for procedures in French Polynesia although i may have to pay first and seek reimbursment

Health Care is not free for locals or residents, it is a monthly deduction % based on your income.
