Here`s a "dont"... don`t get impatient in traffic and honk your horn to the tune of..."shave and a haircut, two bits",
this is considered an insult and I`ve seen drivers get out of there cars and start fighting because in Mexico it means...
"chinga tu madre, es mejor"... that is.. F... your mother, she`s best".

Horn honking seems to be standard practice for taxi drivers - it is safer than leaving the car and fight. Observed.

Do: always look over your shoulder before getting into your car in a parking lot. You never know.
Don't: take a "taxi libre"; Choose a taxi of a "sitio" it may be a little bit more expensive but a lot safer.
