Did you Get a job first then move to UAE?

In my case, I came on a visit and THEN looked for a job. But it was very competitive in 2012 and the lack of 'Gulf experience' got to me but oh well, managed to get one, and eventually progressed up.

But realistically, considering the impact that Covid-19 has had in the global market, it affected the UAE job market as well. Just do any search and you will notice it.

Bt having said that, it should not be a reason why you should look at it negatively either. For an example, experienes such as digital platforms, restructuring, healthcare, sanitization and facility management, IT are some of the businesses that actually are having more openings nowadays.

In addition to what mayaventinilla mentioned, try Naukrigulf.com , Linkedin as well. Instead of agencies here, its best that you look up agencies from your home country first(?)

I have looked online and there seems to be a lot of jobs to filter through.

I was wondering If their were an agencies that I can call that can help me in finding the right job for me?

Any ideas?

My experience with agencies here was an unpleasant one (long story shot-two different agencies, took a certain 'registration' fee from me, did an interview, and never got back to me. Later I learned that it's not even legal to take such fees but then it was long gone)

What sector/industry are you on the lookout for by the way?

Finance, Insurance, Risk, Banking, Teaching in Maths, 

I have a Maths degree and a masters in Finance management

For starters- look up the leading banks and financial institutions  in UAE, list them up , go to their official wbsites-> careers section and apply. Long shots but why not right?

Yes. You must make proper resume with all details and skills and mail it t multiple Companies or Consultants and do followup with them. I am sure you will surely get lot of opportunities...
