Nationality VS Personality!!

Qundil

A question that always comes in my mind, why thereÂ’s a lot of people treat others based on their skin color?!
One example is the work field, if you have a European or American passport then your chance is higher & the salary is different? Little employers who really cares about the skills or experience during the interviews!
Thank god, I didnÂ’t have an issue in that, but I had several friends who are really qualified bit they lost the chance because the other one have a better nationality!!
Another example is the friendship, why thereÂ’s a lot of people donÂ’t believe of the friendship between 2 different nationalities? For example Arabs & Indians, Philips, or Europe? To tell the truth most of my friends are from different nationalities because I found their personalities so valuable.
I know that you all aware of this, but I just liked to share these known wonders with you

Regards
Ali

Very interesting topic.
All nationalities are equal but some are more "equal" than the others))

Personally I find Westerners very arrogant and suspicious towards anyone without "blond hair and blue eyes", also since they are more "equally" paid than the others they like to hang out with people from their own social class.

All Indians I know don't show any interest in becoming friends with non-Indians. But they are not arrogant.

Arabs are very friendly, but I have noticed that many of them don't feel comfortable in a company of a non-believer.

I find eastern Europeans (except former SU) open and not arrogant, Filipinos are very easy to socialize with too.

That's what I feel after 2 years in the UAE.

you are absolutely right man, i noticed the same as you said. even so it's not the correct way to treat people but i guess we can't change the reality!

hope that you have good & fun life in dubai, thanks for sharing your thoughts here

Interesting Topic mate.
i don't think a lot of people with the said description would answer to your post, but what i have felt in my past 6 years in UAE, that this is a place which is lacking trust amongst people. if you talk about friendship, most of them here are based on material interests. if you talk about relationships, you'll find thousands of couples living together just because they want to save money, and amongst them many are of those who are already married in their own countries and here they have "life partners" also. if you talk about friendship between males and females, girls have their eyes on the pockets of the guys and the guys also have their eye on a special pocket with girls have :P
now the reason which i have understood behind that is we are all temporary residents here. we don't have any permanent future in this country of in the whole of Gulf. at the end of the day we have to go back to our own countries. even last week one of the persons i knew, he worked here for 30 years and now he is back in Pakistan. so all we want is to secure our lives which are back home. and for that we are willing to spoil anything. friendship, relationship. people. race. what ever we can do we are doing. that's LIFE IN THE GULF my friend.
and that's based of Personal interest.
Enjoy it as much as you can.
Cheers

30 years is almost half of one's life, how is that temporary?

People who go to a collage or university in another city know that they are there temporary, however that doesn't stop them from becoming true friends. How to explain that?

A lot of people change cities in their own countries too and even more people change the locations inside the city. Based on that logic friendship, relationships and just plain empathy is possible only for very few people who were born in one place and didn't move anywhere.

It's an interesting discussion!
most of my friends are from Jordan/Palestine but I believe that it really depends on person to person! You cannot create a generalized image about anyone! :)
