hepatitis B infection
Who are coming to Abu Dhabi and have hepatitis B positive, don't worry... state forward come and take the blood test coz they will check only HIV and TB.
Hepatitis B will be check only who belong to 6 categories which are food handlers, maids, restaurant workers, nannies, health club workers, and barber/salon.
What about if you have history of TB. i am already cured of TB and underwent 3-6mos treatment. Already cured completely. Is it possible i can work there?
They are checking for old traces of tb also in their chest x ray , if found they will deport .

good day!
I am hepa B carrier and currently applyign a job Singapore. I ahve already my contract. What happened was I was having troubled getting my Medical Certificate as Fit to Work. The Clinic in Cebu City gave me Unfit To Work. But accdg to my research on Ministry of MANpower of Singapore, they are allowing foreign workers who has Hepa BV. But that memo was 2010 before.
I actually handed it to the medical and complain my case, today they gave me another Medical Certificate that i am fit to Work with Hepa B remarks.
Question: Is it really possible for foreign workers to work in Singapore with Hepa B carrier? / Do you have any person/colleague or friends who are already working there?
Thank you very much.
P.S. If you know any sites that can tell list of countries that are banning and allowing Hepa foreign applicants or workers, please reply.
God Bless all!

Hi Kamil,
I'm still in the Philippines. I have a job offer in abu dhabi as a planning engineer. My problem now is that I am a Hepa B passive carrier.
Is it necessary that the medical clinic to do the medical tests here in the Phils. must be accredited by the GAMCA??? It's because the agency endorsed me to a clinic that is not accredited by GAMCA.
Another problem is, they diagnosed me as "Unfit to Work" because I am HBsag positive. And so, I researched for a clinic accredited by DOH for OFW's medical screening that conducts Hepa B Profile tests to look deeper on my Hepa B level of infection.
Prior to this job offer, I already had series of tests. It's quite expensive but the result then was that I am a chronic Hepa B, Inactive, carrier state. That's why I am sure that I am a passive Hepa B carrier.
Fortunately, I found in sulit a medical clinic that conducts Hepa B profile but it is not GAMCA accredited. I called them up to make sure that I would be "Fit to Work" provided I am cleared or inactive based on the result of the Hepa B profile. and the manager agreed on it. Hopefully, I would be "Fit to work" because, a Hepa b profile will also be considered aside from the HBsag positivity only.
I'll keep you posted guys on what would be the outcome of my medical tests. Please pray with me so that a favorable outcome may be resulted.
Again may I ask, is it necessary that the clinic is GAMCA accredited??? I'm just wondering why the agency endorsed me to one that is not. Maybe they knew that the process could also prosper even the clinic is not GAMCA accredited.
Can somebody enlighten me on this please?
kamil you're seem well versed with the law here in UAE....

thank for the information.. are u a filipino? are u a male or female? actually im planning to go there using tourist visa bcoz thats the only way that i can go to abroad..becoz the agency here in the philippines are very strict and if u found out that u have hepatitis b ur application will be rejected.. my question is that how easy or difficult to find a job in dubai that not belong to 6 categories? how long did you look to find for a job there? im hoping you will response my friend..by the way im a filipino, male 30 yrs old.. i presently working in a hospital as a staff nurse but the salary here is very poor thats why im planning to work abroad..hoping i can go there too like u..
hello still hoping,
There's a lot of job in the market which you can apply online, which does not belong to 6categories. You must need to be patience to find one. I found my current job for about a month. Planning to come over here it's like forgetting your profession.. you must prepare your self for that. By the way i am Filipino, Female.
Hi deltamikelima and kamil! May I ask who conducts the medical screening there in Abu Dhabi? Is it the government hospitals or MOH affiliated clinics? Are they well informed about the policy on the 6 categories. By the way, I am an engineer and a passive Hepa b carrier. TIA.
Hi jjfox,
Gov't. hospitals are doing the test in AUH, I dont know in DXB if they do the same. If you dont belong to the six categories, no worries... good luck
Thanks deltamikelima, Hope I can pass my medical here in the phils. Coz there in UAE, i would have no more problem since I'm a planning engineer.
New Updates for Medical Fitness Test in Dubai. Those who are still confused. Pls. Read...
TO Kamil,
Hi, I have am here in Dubai 15 months now and I have been sent home 2010 because of I am a HBsag positive (A healthy carrier though, please read my previous story). Regarding the GAMCA thing, I think there is a new law before (about six month back) that states that UAE expats in the Philippines should be test under GAMCA. In my time early 2011 does not have to be GAMCA only DOH approve clinic. However, If your agency says that it is not required to be GAMCA then most probably it is not required because they should be informed about this by the company they are representing from. The best way I think is to go straight to POEA and ask there.
Pls. check this link: List of accredited DOH Clinics
Contact which is more accessible in your location. Be sure to discuss with them at least through phone about your HBsag positivity condition. And if ever they would still check for your hepa profile before they declare you as fit or unfit to work. Some medical clinics only checks HBsag positivity and that's it, you are automatically unfit. But there are few, should I say very few, who tests the deeper condition whether the subject is infectious or not by doing Hepa profiling.
As in my case, I was endorsed by my agency to abakkus Clinic, I was declared unfit just because I am Hbsag positive. So I advised the agency that i will look for another clinic. And so, It is Christian Medical Clinic in Quezon City, that still requires me a Hepa profile before they will issue a fit to work medical cert as well as the non-infectious clearance. Just look for the medical director Dra. Lyn de Leon(10am to 12noon and 3pm to 5pm)coz she is very kind and accomodating. Their contact no. is +6324167258.
Hope this could help those that are declared UNFIT by the med clinic that your agency had recommended. Don't lose hope and look for another clinic that can consider your condition.
Just this morning the result of my Hepa B profiling is INACTIVE. Hopefully tommorow, I can get my Fit to Work medical certificate and non-infectious clearance. I will update you guys.
Please pray for me so that I could go to Abu Dhabi for a job.
Hi Jjfox04,
Any updates to your medical here in t he phil? I hope you already declaired fit to work by the clinic. what‘s the name of your agency?
I am so happy today. Aside from celebrating my birthday, God had given me a very nice gift also.
This is the magic word:
"FIT TO WORK / CLASS B - NON-INFECTIOUS HEPATITIS B"
Yes, I was declared fit to work yesterday by Christian Medical Clinic in New Manila, QC. They also issued an "INFECTIOUS CLEARANCE" with a dianosis that I am a Hepatitis B, Chronic, inactive, non-replicating, non-infectious and a recommendation that I am fit to work. There is nothing impossible in prayers guys, but one must also learn to persevere. As in my case, I looked for another medical clinic that is DOH/POEA accredited. This is my suggestion, if ever you got a job offer for Qatar or UAE, you must talk to your agency right away and if possible do not go to the clinic that they recommended. If you are in Central Luzon Region, contact Christian Medical Clinic. Just look for the medical director Dra. Lyn de Leon(10am to 12noon and 3pm to 5pm)coz she is very kind and accomodating. Their contact no. is +6324167258.
One more thing GAMCA's decking practices for employment in GCC countries is no longer allowable. Let us be vigilant about this!!!.Based on the DOH's Memorandum Circular 2011-0030 regarding the implementation of Section 16 of RA 10022 otherwise known as the Migant Workers' Act, IT IS THE RIGHT OF ANY OFW TO CHOOSE ANY MEDICAL CLINIC FOR THEIR PRE-EMPLOYMENT MED EXAM FOR AS LONG AS IT IS DOH ACCREDITED.
Here is the link:
Though FARLAND Recruitment Agency also required me to sign a medical waiver, it's still fine with me since I knew that there is no Hep B screening for Planning Engineers in UAE.
"TO GOD BE THE GLORY"
Thanks deltamikelima. Probably I will be there in Abu Dhabi this December. So see you guys just in case.
hi dear do not come on visit visa they will not do test but for employment visa you must have to do.they will take your blood sample than result after 4 to 5 days you will get.i will advice u to consult a doctor in you home countary.take care bye
Hi john,
Let me just clarify if you want to get occupational health cards (OHC)here in Dubai. You did not mention if you are hep - B carrier. But anyway since last year part timer in Dubai have been legalized. If you are student or under wife/husband visa and want to work as part time you have to go to labor and apply for part timer worker labour card for the amount of 500. for employed individual you have to show non objection form current employer.
If you are Hep-B carrier and working under 6 categories you will be failed in medical fitness test, same from getting OHC. Â

Hi everybody, I have an offered job in Dubai/Sharjah as Encoder, my sponsor is planning to get me on a tourist visa. My problem is I have a scar on my lungs and healthy hepa b carrier do I have chance to land the offered job to me? Pls reply and Thank you in advanced.
Hi Blue king
As far as tourist visa there is no concern on medical conditions , but if you wnat to get residency visa you have to undergo medical test , they will check for hiv , tb [ even old scars ] ,hbsag [ only for 6 categoris ] , so before you go kindly double check with your employer to avoid disappointments.

jai
Thank you Jai1 for your informative reply. Did you know anyone who has old scar/s that has landed a job in UAE w/o any problem and under 6categories? I read sometimes a forum/blogs that after TB has healed an applicant can apply again in UAE.
Dear Blueking
Even though after a person recovered from TB , still in X-ray old scars will show off , that makes to medical unfit . Best of luck.
Hi friends
Is there any improvement for the deported cases due to hepatitis b has cleared the ban any news , i didnt find any post who has cleared the ban in recent past . If any info please share.
hi kamil how much you spent for settling the tourist visa??
Hi All
Any recent news on clearing the ban of already deported people from UAE due to Hep B?
Dear all,
I am new to this board but i am sailing in the same boat...i am also a hepatitis B carrier.Recently i have been offered a project manager job in Dubai by a construction company. Can any of you ladies and gents on this forum tell me whether i will get a work permit / residence visa for Dubai?I am married with two grown up kids and my family is free of hepatitis B.Only myself & my mother has it and even she is 73years old.As per my doctor i am born with it and hence i am not prescribed any medicine.
I will appreciate an honest view about my situation.
Regards,
BB

Pls pray for my brother he will do medical test on Wednesday in Al Quoz Medical Centre his job is Telephone Operator in Hotel Apartments. I am feeling very nervous for him, this is the only chance he has to stay here in Dubai I pray that everything will be ok and that he may able to pass the medical exam.
Will post here after the result has come.
GOD is GREAT!!! My brother got his Residence Visa stamped for 3 years since he is working for Semi-Government Company.
They really do not check for HEPA B if your work does not fall under 6 categories.
During his Medical Test in Al Quoz only one vial of blood was taken form him and it was labelled with "MHIV" plus he did X-tray as well since this will be his first time in Dubai.
This is really a VERY BIG BLESSING to him and to all HEPA B carriers out there. THERE IS HOPE! God Bless us All!
You are lucky then, but not all specially here in Philippines, I had a job offer as MEP coordinator, i am electrical engineer, the agency refer mo to a clinic so what i did, i call the clinic first and ask about hep b, hen they told me it is still required to be tested and if positive automatically unfit, so our only hope maybe is to go on a visit visa in dubai then look for a job there.

hi john,
you said that you are under wife visa, i just want to ask if you are hepa B carrier, if that so it means you passed the medical screening test for Hepa B? coz im planning to come in UAE ill ask my wife to sponsor me but Im afraid that if the UAE come to know that im positive with Hepa B, ill be deported and im scared that my wife will be in trouble too.
