Health Insurance in Turkey ( Residence Permit )

Turkey2023

    The price of Health insurance is required for residents aged seventy years old. I tried online quotes and find them very expensive from  £150,000 to 500,000

Can I use live insurance? is it mandatory to have it to apply for residency? Cheers

Applicants above 65 years old are exempt from the mandatory health insurance upon the residence permit process. If you are making your own application, you need to select the "Below 18 years old, above 65 years old" option on the insurance step. If you need assistance, send a PM.

Thank you very much for the quick response. I understand I don't need Health insurance. Cheers

@Turkey2023 I Imagine TRY rather then GBP in your mail, clearly an Ikamet is important, SGK is an option, but private institution is fine as well (we are 61 and 52), we pay EUR 210 pm (for the both of us), acceptable, but expensive.

Good offereing, but you have to ask and I do not want too for this or that test (I am too lazy)

Most of the real estate agents when buying offer a health insurance, but the absolute minimum (and at a good price (a few EURO per year), covering for serious accidents and alike. We took it and changed after a year to a serious company.

I bought a apartment in Sisli on  November 2021 with more  than $75000 managed to get the water ISKI and the gas supplier IGDAS registered but unfortunately couldn't get the electricity registration so I have to pay someone to use his name which is a bit odd. According to the  solicitor that I can apply for ikamet.  I am retired with income of $670. Do I still need 1.5 minimum salary as I own my house. Thanks for helping in advance.

@Turkey2023

Turkey is a great country to live, but I have to say with your income a comfortable life is not possible. Why did you come here in the first place?

Help is difficult, you have to bring your capital/money.

Typically your real estate agent deals with electricty etc. But again with USD 670 life is not easy.

We also bought November 2021 and prices were still affordable, my advice, try to sell and go to another place.

My better option is to rent the flat and stay in London. Cost of living in Turkey keeps going up every month. In the first time when I decided to retire the life so good but by keep coming I discovered is lot of scams going on ,some people and some shops when kown your are foreign the make you high price , of course I am talking about Istanbul area. I start to lose the love of the city, every time I decide to spend money I have to put my mind in alert and always to double check , these things very  very less  in London. I really like Istanbul and not all people are bad but you get scamed from few people you start to watch up that not make you comfortable. But still this mega city and cosmopolitan is beautiful. By.
