Haircut

Allons-y

Please help if you can :-).  I am a white American who has had 3 pretty bad haircuts here- two in barbershops and one at a hotel salon.  I like a modern style for my hair, but the places basically shave/shorten the sides and leave the top pretty untouched.  The top then gets too curly/long and it looks bad.

I would probably pay up to about 80 SR for a good haircut.  Are there any salons that you can recommend for my situation (I included my race and nationality in case some stylists are more experienced with my type of hair/style)?

Thanks in advance :-)

The only one on Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz street I can think of is Hollywood and they charge something like 200 for a haircut and when you consider the traffic to get there...jeez, it just isn't worth it.

I think your problem Allons-y, could be just a miscommunication. I'd suggest you take an old pic of yourself and show it to any barber you've been to and see what happens. Good luck!

Take an asian expat friend, goto a barber on the road side, ask ur friend to explain the Barber wt to do, he will do for you; you dont need to pay 80 SAR.  :), only 10 - 15 SR is enough.

Most of the times, its the communication that can cause these issues. :)

I really don't think it's a question of communication, as a friend has the same issue (barbers leaving the top more or less unchanged) despite numerous pleas for a change, and the people I've spoken with don't have bad English.  Anyway, thanks for the write-ins :).  I went to a Turkish barbershop and got a pretty decent cut, so my hair is happier now ;-).
