CAREER CHANGE

Ni Ming Ha

Hello. First of all let me introduce myself. I am a Filipino, 33 years of age, currently working and living as a school cleaner in Saudi Arabia for more than 5 years now. I graduated highschool and try to go to college but did'nt because of lack of financial support. I was young that time. I only have myself and my Dad was old to take care of me and care about these things in life. I was lost. No one to guide me. I regretted those times I didn't pursue my education when all I want in life is to study and be something or someone. And now I am 33 and no career and I want to change it. I want to be better. The problem is I don't know what I want now and what I can do now. I hope it's not too late 😩

Hello! Thank you for sharing your story

It takes a lot of courage to open up about your struggles and regrets.

Firstly, please know that it's never too late to make a change and pursue your goals. Many people have successfully restarted their education or careers in their 30s, 40s, and even 50s!

Given your passion for studying and becoming someone, I'd encourage you to explore options that can help you achieve your goals. Here are a few suggestions:

1. *Online courses and certifications*: Look into online platforms like Coursera, edX, or Udemy that offer courses and certifications in various fields. This can help you gain new skills and knowledge.

2. *Distance learning programs*: Many universities offer distance learning programs that can help you earn a degree while working. You can explore options like online bachelor's or associate's degrees.

3. *Vocational training*: Consider enrolling in vocational training programs that can help you acquire practical skills in areas like technology, healthcare, or business.

4. *Career counseling*: Reach out to career counselors or coaches who can help you identify your strengths, interests, and career goals.

To get started, take some time to reflect on your interests, values, and strengths. Ask yourself:

- What subjects or activities do I enjoy?

- What are my strengths and skills?

- What kind of work environment and culture do I prefer?

- What are my long-term career goals?

Remember, it's okay to take your time and explore different options. You've already taken the first step by acknowledging your desire for change.

Keep in mind that you're not alone in this journey. Many people have been in your shoes and have successfully transformed their lives.

Stay positive, focused, and committed to your goals. You got this!

Thank you very much for the kind words! I really appreciate it this time of my life where I am lost and not knowing to do or go or how to start.
