Where can I get Marmite in Jeddah?

sabadgeman

Good morning all,

I have finally landed in Chaotic and vibrant Jeddah.

Thanks to all who have passed tips and have given me assistance before I arrived.

Can any one tell me where I can buy Marmite in Jeddah please?

Also Pecks Anchovette or Redro Fish Paste as well if possible I really miss the last two as they are not imported into Europe now.

Thanks in anticipation.

Regards

Steve

Marmite in any big supermarket, such as Danube, Panda, Manuel, Carrefour, etc.

Epicurious brand anchovy paste in Danube and Carrefour, probably in the others as well.

Thanks Trapezius, I have checked two Hyper Panda's the one near Sharbatly and the one in Azziz mall and the Carrefour in Flamingo mall but could not see it there nor could the customer services help??

Thanks for the post though. I appreciate you taking the time to answer me. I will pop over to Dabnue later today.

Cheers

Marmite and Pecks Anchovette can be found in Danube(Thalia Street and Red Sea Mall) and Emanuel (stars Avenue), they are not available on all times, but they keep appearing on the shelves now and then.

Thanks for your help!

Marmite is a slow selling product, so once it sells out, it takes them some time to stock it.  When looking for exotic or unusual products, best to always check Danube, as they tend to have a bigger usually well-stocked selection.

Thank you again, I will be Riyadh all tomorrow but I will check on Thursday :)

Thanks again for taking the time to answer my question.  :top:

Just got back from Carrefour in Flamingo Mall, they have Marmite, in two different aisles no less!  I was surprised when you said they didn't have it.

Customer service here is a non-existent concept, unless the person providing the service is a Filipino.  Don't even bother asking any stockists (except Filipinos) in supermarkets for help locating items, especially for specialty items.  You want it, you gotta spend the time and look for it! :)

I bet Panda has it too... it might have sold out, but there is a good chance they have it.

In Carrefour it is next to the peanut butters, which is where it usually is in all supermarkets.  It is also in the aisle next to it which has flour, sugar, cake mixes, and organic grains, lentils, and beans.

If you have a decent market on compound you could always ask them to get it for you. That is how I have gotten a few items I don't use often, but couldn't find else where. Our grocer was more than willing to try and get it for me once in awhile I just had to give him some time to find it.

Full Monty

I was surprised to see Marmite in Riyadh. I brought a huge, 600g, catering pack from the UK after living in Khobar, Tabouk and Kuwait and - after searching and asking high, low, and in between, coming up empty-handed. Lo and behold, on my first trip to a local Panda I see it stocked. The same in Carrefour.
