VJ691

Hello Fellas,

I am Vimal currently working with British based company is Abu Dhabi and have been offered to work in Jubail and live in Dammam. I will be moving with my wife and would like to know environment of living in SA.

Which will be the best place to rent a flat / apartment for living?
What are the advantages and disadvantages on going for compound arrangements?
Is compound arrangement easily available or should i look for normal flats?
I am holding UAE Driving License. Should I take new SA Driving License or can i convert?
I know exit stamp is to done prior to departure thru online, is it relatively easy now a days or it is a problem?

Kindly request your feedback for me to take a proper decision.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Vimal

Hi Vimal,
Responses to your queries:

If you are working in Jubail then it is probably a good idea to live their itself. Jubail highyway does not have a good reputation when it driving safe. Also it is around 60-90 minutes commute each way.

Consider looking for an apartment in Dammam iskan as you will be closer to get on the highway for work every morning and the apartments themselves are big.
Vacancy in compounds is not easy to find and they are expensive too. Can range anything between 65K - 145K SAR.

If you are coming on a residence permit than you will need to get a saudi driving license which requires a few formalities that your HR/GR can help you with. The traffic authorities will take your UAE license and give you an SA one.

Exit permits are not a difficult thing. It all depends on how active your HR/GR is in the company.

Happy to help!
