It will be a change of profession request ,  jawazat will not update it.

If SCE changed the membership to engineer based on verification by them with authorities in Pakistan, do you think Jawazat will approve to engineering profession too based on their verification and membership? Or they might ask me to attest the degrees first from Saudi culture and embassy

Your degrees need to be attested in any case for authenticity either if you are an engineer or technician.
Normally people upload attested degrees in SCE to be in safer side for permanent membership.
Under temporary membership SCE accept unattested degrees but after attestation you need to reupload them.
Jawazt will accept SCE certificate for profession change ,in depth verification of certificates back and front I don't know if they are concerned with that.They depend on SCE for verification.
They are many similar cases  checkout with your friends or coworkers.

That’s a great information. I really hope they’ll change profession based on the membership approved by SCE as an Engineer. Secondly, I’ve heard nowadays even change profession is through company’s portal in Absher, which certainly means no need to physically show them the degree either attested or not. The profession will be changed if the membership is confirmed in SCE as an Engineer. Don’t know if it’s true!!
