Freelancing for a Saudi Employer

sovobo9061

Assalamualaikum guys,

I am on tourist visa by and I know freelancing can be done online outside KSA, but what if I want to freelance remotely  for a Saudi company from my home? Is that possible? Is business visa the only way to do this?

My reply to you in your private message:

As long as you don't receive money in a bank account in Saudi, you are fine.   But the companies may not want to work with you as they have to have VAT invoices from a registered entity.

You are able to work remotely as a freelancer and get paid per Saudi Law provided there is a Legal Agreement in place that designates the type of work and rate. It would be better if you had a business-to-business agreement based on the type of work being performed including certain process requirements including bank, force Majeure, non-delivery, and nonpayment.

Alternatively, you may recommend that the Saudi company uses a freelancer site and work from there but that becomes an issue in KSA due to banking requirements and loss of engagement due to alternative options.

It is recommended that you formalize your relationship with the Saudi Company in light of the Banking requirements and the existing Geopolitical issues we are experiencing across the globe.
