Hi everyone,

I’m currently working in Oman under CURRENT COMPANY. My 2-year work visa will expire in about 7 days.

Recently, I received a job offer from another NEWcompany, and I’m expecting the official offer letter within the next Week.

Here’s the issue — my current company’s notice period is 2 months. I’m worried about what happens after my visa expires during that period. If my company renews the visa for another 2 years, I fear they might not cancel it when I leave (they’ve done this to a previous employee who got stuck and couldn’t come back to Oman for months).

note: My current comopany also doesn’t issue NOCs, and I don’t want to risk being blocked from joining the new company.What’s the legal and practical way to handle this?

Can I serve my 2-month notice after my visa expiry without renewal? and can i join NEWCOMPNAY when i am overstaying in oman with grace period. or shall i aks my current company to renew for only 2months(is it possible?)

If i overstay for 60days after visa expired and left oman. Will it affect my future work visa with NEWCOMPANY

Is there a way to ensure they actually cancel my visa when I leave?

Any help or experience from people who changed jobs in Oman recently would be appreciated.
