Termination of Contract Due to COVID-19 Pandemic

Xoaddag24

Dear Sir/Ma’am,
Hope everyone is well and safe.

Quick inquiry...

I do know that companies can terminate contracts as a result of the total or partial closure of the establishment as per Labour Law Article 110 and that the employee should be compensated for the remaining period of his/her contract. Is this correct?

I just want to know, if there’s any exemption during this COVID-19 pandemic. Can an employer terminate more than 1 employee without giving compensation for their remainder contract period and just get paid until their last working day plus their indemnities?

Termination has to be handled as per labour law, there is no exemption and compensation calculation is clear.   And the compensation as per contract period really depends as to whether you have a limited or unlimited contract.

I have made a detailed sticky about many legal matters including this.  Suggest to go here and read it:

Read your contract.  There should be a diplomatic clause in it.
