Business Development Manager, Bahrain

ramso

Hi Friends,

Am new to this forum. My name is Ramesh and have been offered a job as a Business Development Manager in Manama by an India based IT company for 750BHD. Am going to ask them for accommodation as well. I need your advice if it is safe for me to take this job and move to Bahrain by October this year.

Am from Bangalore India.

Looking for all of your advice before I take up this offer.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
That is a good salary and if you can get accommodation too then even better ( make sure you choose where) ask for temporary accommodation first until you know your way around.
Try to ensure you get transport and return flights plus medical insurance if you can.
Bahrain is safe so long as you are sensible and choose your accommodation area carefully.
There are troubles here, just like anywhere else. The trouble is usually in the villages so if you stay away from those then you will be fine

Hi Josnuggles,

Thanks so much for your reply. Yes the company is offering medical insurance, a 2 week temporary stay in Manama. Am planning to stay close to the office to minimize my travel. All other travel costs to client locations will be refunded by the company.

Sounds good and if you get accommodation paid for or even an allowance then you will have a comfortable lifestyle.

I'm glad to hear you are negotiating. It's always best not to accept the first offer. Good luck and hope to see you happy in Bahrain soon

ramso

Thanks, definitely yes will try to meet you and other like-minded forum members.

Hi Friends,

I also have one more question, how much will a fully-furnished, semi-furnished 1 bedroom flat cost. I need this info to negotiate with my prospective employer.

Farhaz

The rent depends on a number of factors, such as location, age of building, etc.

On average, plan to spend at least BD250 for a fully furnished 1 bedroom apartment. Of course, there are some areas in which rents are high and a 1 bedroom can go for much higher.

Browse this website to get an idea of rents and the different areas:

Best wishes.

Josnuggles

You can get all inclusive fully furnished for BD 400 - 450. Not sure about semi furnished but they will be between BD300 - 350

Thanks Farhaz and Josnuggles.

Would be best if you can negotiate accommodation with your employer as that is where you will spend your most of the money , you should at least expect to spend 250-300 BD per month  for 1 BHK furnished flat.

ramso

Sure, I am actually negotiating the same with them...

Thanks
