Working as Nurse in Switzerland

exodus412

Hello all,

I will be moving to Switzerland next year and wanted to get organized as soon as possible.  I just finished school as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Question: What is the job market like for English speaking nurses, and do they hire LPN's.  I Will be moving to the Bern area and of course will start to learn the language.  Thanks for your direction.

Hi Exodus,

to find a job around Bern, you can try to find a job by free annoucement. here some link for Bern area:

Of course all is written on German. For working, you have to look about these words: "Arbeitsmarkt", "Arbeitstelle", "Stelle", "Job".

It's also possible to find a job with "Temporärbüro". You can find here a list of these office:

I hope for you to find the right job.

Good luck

Hi exodus412

the swiss red cross can tell you whether your certificate is valid or can be validated for work in switzerland. you find more information on this page:

On the rigth side of the webpage you will find an "Information sheet" that might be useful for you.

Hope this helps.
