NIE support number

RibeiraSacra

@valyval A NIE (Número de Identidad de Extranjero) is for life. It was the certificate which was not.

@elcerrillo2015Hi, please, please can you tell me how you resolved this as we are in exactly the same position.  I need to fill out a non-resident tax form (modelo 210) and cannot submit the form without a NIE support number.  But the only NIE I have is a white paper non-resident certificate, that has no support number.  If you have any advice as to how to get one or where/ what we need to do it would be extremely appreciated.  I am getting a bit panicky and desperate here and don't really know where to turn next. Thanks

@Meryl Evans Thank you, I am trying to contact them but not finding it easy.  The phone number has a restriction, so I cannot get through, the submit a question requires membership, and I cannot find anywhere on the site where I can apply to become a member, but I will persevere.  I have tried contacting them via Facebook also.  But thank you for the link, I havent given up yet :-)

Why should I? I have lived in Spain for a just over a couple of decades. I do not need their help. I certainly would not ask help from someone who pretends to be a British institution by copying that organisations name yet having no links to them.

Welcome to the administrative chaos. The good news: you are not alone. Though, this chaos is perfectly organized and much money and more efforts are made for achieving more and more perfections, no system is perfect, and one has to find loopholes and shortcuts which will takes years. Remember Columbus' egg - he proved something completely useless. After now 60 years permanently in Spain I got accostumed that there is no YES or No, erything can, must, should, might, almost like, perhaps, maybe or the other way around. But whereever there is a will, there is always a way. Face the challenge!

Dear All,

You can get the NIE at the Spain ambassy located in your country of residency.

Please connect to their web site to get an appointment and the list of documents you must provide and the form you need to fill. These sites of local consular services are fortunately often bilingual.

Consider a delay of several weeks or even months to get the appointment.

If you need it fast, then I am afraid you have to go to Spain and ... speak Spanish!

With Best Regards                            Jean-Louis

Has anyone managed to locate the support number for those with a NIE. (and without a card of any description)

Hey all! Just stumbled onto this lengthy thread! I'm in the same boat as many of you here - still searching for my NIE support number.. I'm a Canadian resident who received their A4 white letter copy (by email) produced in April of 2023 with no support number referenced anywhere. I've tried various permutations of numbers found on my NIE certificate, EX15 etc. to no avail. Seems like everyone here is still struggling to source it, as well? I'm in Spain currently and thinking I may just take a walk over to the local police station or town hall to see if they can assist.

Curious if anyone has made any meaningful progress on this?

@marcnelsn I'm also looking for an answer!

Hey! just wanted to post an update. I went to the Calpe city hall and requested a digital certificate in order to manage my affairs remotely online. The whole process took less than 20 minutes. The clerk has you fill in some information, verifies your ID card (or passport) is legitimate, and then they enter you in the system. You leave with a set of instructions on how to setup the certificate on your preferred device. It may be challenging for those not tech-savvy, but the instructions are clear.

The NIE support number has been decommissioned in recent iterations, so i wouldn't bother wasting much time trying to source it unless you had been given one already.

Note for split ownership (husband / wife 50 / 50) you will each need to do this, and the each be responsible for the share of the annual non-resident tax filed via Form 210. The filing of the form itself is quite straightforward online. Cheers.
