Pareja de hecho in SPAIN!! AYUDAAA

Hey there,

I麓m a US Citizen and my partner to be in Spanish and we have decided to take the first step towards marriage by starting off with marriage light, the Pareja de hecho. My question is, what the HELL does the Spanish government need from me and can the embassy hook me up? (Tax dollars at work, right?)

The one thing I KNOW they don麓t ask for is the birth certificate (odd, I know) but they need proof I麓m single and that I麓m a non resident but WE DO live together. So, I麓m assuming the Embassy for the stuff I need? Do I need to do the enpadronamiento thing?

LAST QUESTION, after I麓m Hecho麓d and want Residency, will I need more proof from the US?

Hello Mike;
Do I understand that your partner is Spanish? If so It would be better to declare that you two are Pareja de hecho in the ayuntamiento o depending where you life where they advice you to do it.
I have some friends that life in Burgos and they are Pareja de hecho and never register it, and when they had a baby( not saying that you are going to have one soon, hahaha) they had a lot of problems, registering the name of the baby,you see not marriage certificate meant no father, schools later on, etc, and they are Spanish!

Enpadronamiento is always a good thing, just in case you decide to stay and get residency, hope this help, and always keep in contact with the embassy if you have any more questions, surely they should know better.

I know this is an old thread, but wanted to revive it in hopes that there are others out there that have gone through the process of pareja de hecho in Spain.

After a lengthy process of collecting the needed documents from the US and from the US Embassy in Madrid I have everything.聽 I was told that I needed an Apostile on my birth certificate, and now I read places that it is not necessary.

My partner is German, and has residency here in Spain.聽 I am currently without a work visa and hoping that the process of pareja de hecho is not a long one.

Does any one know if we can submit the paperwork ourselves in Valencia, or if it is better to go through an immigration attorney?
