Hi faujayd!

You could post an advert in the accommodation section of Bucharest classifieds.

Hi Flo,

I would suggest that you find your accomodation close to a subway. It is the only convenient, very efficient and very cheap way of travelling in Bucharest. In general public transportation is good but busses get stuck in the traffic often.

Good and cheap sectors are: Dristor, Titan, Obor, Militari, Brancoveanu, Tineretului. Dont go into Drumul Taberei. It takes another 5 or 10 years before the subway comes there.

The student places to be are in Piata Romana, where ACE is located (The Economical University) and Piata Universitate with the closeby Lipscani with a lot of pubs and little restaurants.

The northern part of the city is the industrial and expensive part with the exit to Budapest and the airports. The Eas and the south are the sectors where most people live (but avoid DT, as said) You can rent from € 100 - € 300 depending on the sector, the floor in the building (up till 8 mostly) and if it is furnished or not. There is a lot of rubbish in the market. You pay 1 month advance and 1 month garuantee. Dont forget that apart from that you have to pay to the administrator of the building for cleaning and central heating. This can be quit a lot, especially in the winter. Ask the owner or look at the ground floor where there is a public list with what every apartment pays monthly.

p.s. more expensive areas to live are the central areas with larger apartments like Piata Amzei (close to Piata Romana), Unirii (very expensive), Gara, Blvd. Kogalniceanu, Stefan cel Mare, Floreasca.
