Hello, Aurelie! I hope someone responds soon too. Do you know anything about Lisbon or have you visited there before?

Lisbon is quite a beautiful city. It has many tourist attractions. The World Heritage Belem Tower is to Lisbon what the Eiffel Tower is to Paris or Big Ben is to London. It is the city's most photographed landmark, which along with the marvelous Jeronimos Monastery should top your list of must-see monuments.
But i must say Lisbon's biggest tourist attraction is Lisbon itself. Though it has many beautiful sights biggest pleasures are its streetlife and setting.

The best sight seeing places are :
1. PARQUE DAS NACOES
2. ST. GEORGE'S CASTLE
3. JERONIMOS MONASTERY
4. BELEM TOWER
5. BERARDO MUSEUM

It has also got such an intriguing architecture making this city so enjoyful to watch. Hope you enjoy this city.

What about hotels? I'm staying in Cascais but want to commute to Lisbon for the most part of my trip. I'm pretty much looking for an affordable hotel which is in-between the nicest beach in Portugal and the metropolitan area of Lisbon.

There are many hotels in Cascais.. You have many Hotels near the Tamariz Beach ( in Estoril ) and the Casino Estoril.



That one is very nice and not to expensive. Walking distance from casino, beach, bars, bus, taxis and Train. The train goes directly to Lisbon.

You have many monuments in Sintra that you have to see ( near Cascais ).

Okay thanks! What about taxiphone? Are they available in Portugal? I'm assuming they are all throughout Europe.

Does anyone know how far it is to get from Lisbon airport to Cascais? What's the best means of transportation to get to each destination?

Hi.
When are you arriving in Lisbon ( day time or late in the night)?
Are you travelling light (backpack or heavy suitcase)?
If not too late or too heavy, you can get the metro from the airport to where it commutes to the train connection to Cascais. You must get the red line till Alameda , then change to green and leave at Cais do Sodre, where you get on the train to Cascais.
Depending on when you arrive in Lisbon, i may be able to pick you up and drive you.
Have you found a place to stay in Lisbon yet? We run a small family B&B in a central historic neighbourhood , near Graca, walking distance from Rossio and Chiado.

I'll be arriving in Lisbon at 6:05pm on Wednesday. Yes, I have found a hotel in Cascais. It's called the Lido. Are you familiar with it? I will have a backpack and a suitcase. I will be very grateful if you were able to pick me up from the airport. If not, I understand and thank you for the advice.

One quick question, how's the weather out there in Lisbon now? I hear it will rain the whole week I'll be there and pretty upset about that. I wanted to enjoy the beach and get some sun. Do you know the accurate forecast for this week?

Hey, the weather will be poor, although from tomorrow on, not rainning all the time. There will be sun but not that good for the beach. Temperatures from 16 degrees  to a minimum of 9 .

As for picking you up, i won't be able to do it. I'm going to Cascais on Thursday, that's why i asked. But i'll be working on Wednesday.
Anyway, when you come to visit  Lisbon, just let us know, maybe we can meet for coffee or something.
