Planning for Oslo

Rits

Hi Friends, I am getting an offer to work in Oslo, Norway. I am thinking that how much should be a decent monthly income for a couple to live comfortably there? I know it depends on my life style but on an average, can someone share some ideas or break-ups on monthly expenses?

Thanks for the reply. I would be moving with my wife, hence sharing would not be possible. Can you please share some detail information on cost of living - including accommodation and other day to day needs? Is 30k NOK, a decent salary to survive in Norway?

You mean 15NOK? Can you please share monthly expenditure break up?

Hello,

If you look through the other posts on the board, you will see there are posts giving very detailed break-downs of what everything costs, and how much you need to get by.

Yea 15,000 on food monthly is way too much ...

But I can understand your dilemma if you are a family and wants to eat outside, especially decent food...

Even as a single person who often ate a bit here and there outside (simple food) I could feel I had overspent ... if you think about it , a box of sushi at DeliLuca might cost around 100 kroners so just say one was to eat a box of that every day that alone would be 3000 for 1 person...

Try cooking more at home , and if you cook at home for a month you would have saved enough to go on a  short holiday instead!
