Leaving the Netherlands for 18 months due to work relocation

John74

Hi,

I have been leaving in the Netherland for 4 years and 10 months. My wife becomes a sponsor in 2018 before that I was the sponsor. My wife and daughter will be staying in the Netherlands and she will also take her exam at city hall this year.

I am being relocated to another country through a Dutch company contact. The company continue to pay for my pension here in the Netherlands. I will de-register from the city hall once I leave Netherlands so I will not get double tax.

My question here is if my wife passes her exam and she will convert her citizenship to Dutch, will I also be able to convert my citizenship to Dutch?

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

You need to be resident in the Netherlands in order to apply for Dutch citizenship.

Hope this helps.
