Although I am retired, I found no real opportunity for jobs if you do not speak the language.  However start up business, are possible, but follow the rules as they are very hot on fining someone who does not do so.

An Accountant always appears to be necessary and this costs from Euro100 a month, but he does keep you on the straight and narrow.

I have found there are two schools here.  The old (the elderly) and the new (the young).

With regard to the former, avoid getting them to make a decision when talking to them as once they have made up there mind there is no changing it no matter how illogical it appears to be.  As regards the latter, they are great and the future here and they will discuss the pros and cons.  If the son turns up when you are getting no-where with the father, he can usually bring sense to bear on the conversation.

There are few regrets about moving here. Very glad we did it but the winter is a bit wet.  Hope this helps.
