UK VAT?

Savak

Hi,

I'm being charged VAT in the UK for various services, as I'm no longer a UK resident can I claim this back?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice on this.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

I know you can claim back the VAT on goods and services exported overseas from the UK, but you haven't told us very much that allows us to help you any further.  One word of warning; if you do claim back the UK VAT, you may very well be charged local taxes when you import it there.

I've seen your other similar question related to a property in Austria.  It looks like you have some complicated tax matters; my advice is you speak to an accountant experienced in multi-national tax matters.

Hope this helps.

As far as I am aware you can only claim UK VAT back if you are taking the goods to a none EU country. If you are, then you would then be liable to import tax and/or duty plus VAT in the destination country.

Only B2B can get 0% VAT cross EU borders. Consumers pay VAT everywhere resident or not.
