How hard would it be to have a sweet home in Malta?

I'm tired of living in a crappy apartment, and I always dreamt to have an 'American' style home. I've literally never seen a home like this in Malta, however I would like it to happen. I honestly just want a home that is detached from anyone else and have a backyard that is dirt not cement. If there aren't these kind of houses (at an affordable price of course!), would it be hard to buy land and build my own? (ofcourse hire contractors and such). Thank you.

There are detached houses yes. Some with garden or even a pool. Whether they are affordable or not depends on what you mean by affordable.聽 Location affects price too of course.

while the estate agent sites are out of date etc, they will give you a good idea of whats available.

Suffice to say in a island less than 30km big land comes at a premium.
