Hi all,
I was wondering if someone knows If I could cash a UK check in Malta.It is a tax refubd and the check is from HMRC .
Anyone knows?

Yes in Valletta their is a forex cheque cashing place -just down from the palace

If you have a bank account over here you can pay it in there, but it can take a couple of weeks to clear.

I did it with my HMRC cheque last year.

Interesting to know, when I have had one I send to UK to my UK account then exchange it with forex service. What kind of rates do local banks give?

I go for convenience, getting to Sliema or Valletta is more trouble than going to the post box!! ;-)

If someone can tell me its聽 a better rate, maybe ......... (1.3256/1.3288 now depending on method)
