Primary schools in Gozo and Malta

Elizabeth1383

Hi there,

I'm looking for advice on public primary schools in Gozo and Malta. My family and I are looking to relocate to Gozo from UK, but ideally would like to find a primary school which teaches in English aswell as Maltese. Also are schools of a good standard generally in Gozo compared to Uk public primary schools? Could anybody offer any advice? Thanks so much!

Hi there, I did a search and found some relevant posts but some information is more than 10 years old. Are there any more recent posts that you could point me in the right direction to please?? thanks

Things dont really change significantly here very often, those posts are probably still broadly accurate.

A couple of links that may help you.

The syllabi can be found here:

Children aged 3 - 5 years are classified as Kinder 1 and Kinder 2. At age 5, they start Primary Year 1, progressing up a year each September. After Year 6 they will enter secondary school.

A list of all schools can be found here:

There are the contact details, so any specific questions would best asked directly to the school in your catchment area.

Whilst I cannot compare the standards of Gozo primary schools compared with the UK, at least two Gozo primary schools, namely Rabat and Nadur, have been upgraded recently.
