Work remotely for Malta employer

Nora W97

Good day everyone, I have been working in Malta for around 3 years and is planning to go back to my country and work remotely for my current employer, which is a Malta company.

They suggested changing the cooperation to B2B, by which i will have to register my one-man business in my country. I wonder if this is the only way? How do I legally receive payment as employment working oversea?

Any sharing of your experience is appreciated, thank you.

You should take their advice and register as a self employed B2B in your home country. Make a contract to supply services to the Maltese registered company and all should be fine. You will be liable to taxation as a business in your own country. Prof Stephen J Newton
