Additionally, thanks again for your advise on the agencies. I'm not coming via any agency, as the offer has come directly from one of the well known reputed company and i'm not asked to pay any amount for my Visa.

I need one more clarification, since I'm not in the state, and expected to be arrive Dublin around the month of April, how do I approach renting of the house ? I understand viewing is essential and it is always recommended to sign the contract only after viewing. However, since out-of-country, what would be the best option ? Kindly advise.

My advice is something like AirBnb; using that for a month will enable you and your wife to look around.  If you have the money, I've used the Red Cow Hotel in the past - perhaps they will do you a deal for a longer-term rental.  Alternatively, perhaps your new employer has a corporate arrangement locally - ask them.

While renting in Dublin is going to be very expensive, I think the real problem is gong to be finding somewhere to rent.  Every week there are reports on the radio here of people queuing to view accommodation which it is put up for rent and some people simply accepting and paying deposits sight unseen. 

I think you should have a long chat with the HR Manager in your new company to get a full and realistic view of the housing market in Dublin.  At least you will be arriving with your eyes wide open.

Sorry to be so pessimistic but that is the reality of the housing market in Dublin at the moment.

Many thanks for taking time to respond my query. Sure, I will discuss with my employer to find out the best way. If cost of renting within Dublin is expensive and quite queuing, could you suggest me any other county which I can commute to work little outside from Dublin. My work place is going to be in Dublin 12.  Does the county also have the same problem of waiting periods for the renting ? or it is little better ? Please advise.

What is happening in Dublin at the moment is that people are being pushed out into satellite towns, rents are cheaper but commute longer.  People can be driving up to 100kms one way to get to work in Dublin.  The public transport from outside dublin is not very good and is overcrowded. There is a ring road around dublin - M50 off which there are motorways heading in all directions (M11; M7; M4; M3;M2 & M1).  Have a look on google maps and you can see the towns on these motorways.  The further from dublin the cheaper the rent, you probably need to to be looking at over 40km from Dublin before rents decrease substantially. You really, really need to talk to the HR dept and get their on the ground knowledge.
