Ex-Pat living in Peloponnese

The Grocer

Υεια σασ

Having just joined I thought I had better introduce myself....it may also prompt the moderator to add a new venue THE PELOPONNESE.

I am a retired supermarket manager from the UK and now spend part of the year in Greece (nr Kalamata) and part in Wales (Landrindod Wells).
We built our house in 2005 and for the following 3 years used it as a holiday home. Now I am fully retired (since 2008) I can spend far more time enjoying glorious Greece.

Like many ex-pats we have been adopted by a stray dog! My blog is accessible through the main BLOG pages of this site, but ROSIE also has her own blog...this can be found at

Γεια σας, Grocer.

Welcome to the Ex-pat blog site.

Similar story to you, built house not far from you, near Gialova, in 2005, we retired fully in 2008 ,and since then have lived here most of the year.

Useful article you found on the EU proposals for car registration.  We now have a Greek car so it won't affect us, but it might have been helpful if it had been in force when we first came to Greece with our UK car.

Here's another vote for making the Peloponnese a separate location/venue or whatever it is they call it here.

P.S. Does anyone else have problems remembering whether it's double 'p' and one 'n' or vice versa in Peloponnese? Eight  years here and I still have to check.
