It is not necessary to be able to speak Spanish or Llanito to work / live in Gibraltar.
The official language is English, however there are many multi-lingual people here and Spanish is possibly the second most common language.

However the gaming industry has requirements for many alternative languages.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me again.

What if I will decided to learn language anyway which one I should choose to learn: Spanish OR Llanito???

I also read online that you can't learn well Spanish when you there, don't understand why???

Did kids learn Spanish (as a second language)  at school too???
Do I will need to send my kids to private school to teach them Spanish???

Hi

Llanito is basically a dialect rather than a pure language. A combination of English and Spanish with very few words of it's own.

So learn Spanish as a second language.

One of the problems with trying to learn Spanish in Gib is that as most people are bilingual the person you are talking to will answer in the language they think you are happiest with rather than struggle with the other language.

Spanish is taught as a second language in the schools, however Spanish/llanito is the playground language and your children will very quickly pick it up so no real need for any extra schooling.
